Wrapping it up

We finished up a couple of our extra curricular activities this week.
Gabe had his final practice/swim meet of the season. He's planning to participate on the summer team, but a break for a couple months will be nice.

Mya also wrapped up her winter ballet session with a parent observation class today.

Of course there are days when I dread taking them to practice, but overall it's so fun to watch them improve and enjoy doing something that they love.

What's the moral?

Mya had to do a re-telling of an Aesop's Fable for school on Monday. She chose to do The Fox and the Stork. They were all so cute. Here she is presenting in their "Greek Theater."

The moral: Don't play a trick on someone unless you can stand for the same trick to be played on you.

Actually, Gabe has been asking to try out the Ergo so I let him wear Laney this evening while he was helping Nae with his plants.

Laney isn't picky about who is toting her around, just as long as someone is.

Our 'lena Bena

I don't know what happened to our little Alena, she is all of a sudden looking like such a big girl.

The longer hair definitely makes her look older.

These two are best buddies (most of the time.)

(1) Gabe likes to be the one to get Laney out of bed in the morning (and he has since had a desperately needed haircut.)
(2) Nae and helpers began the process of mulching. He's done two truckloads so far and still has probably that much left to do.
(3) Laney is 7 months old today!
(4) Nae took this one. Laney is getting so big it's hard for Alena and Eden to hold her anymore.

Baby in blue

I almost edited the drool out of this one, but decided to keep it true-life instead. Probably 3/4 of the pictures looked like this. Laney would win an award for the droolist baby ever!

Space Center

On Saturday, Nae took Gabe and Mya to Huntsville to tour the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. Their tutorial had a field trip and several families went down for the day. Everyone had a great time. I'm posting a few photos that Nae and Gabe took (Gabe took all the pictures he's not in.) Nae remembered a lot of things from a field trip he took there in elementary school.

This is a submarine. Can you imagine being under water in that thing?

We'll probably go back as a family some time; especially since our membership to our science museum here gets us in free.

A little art time

I don't know what came over me today, but I let the girls do some drawing/painting. We started with a castle and then did a princess.

It was actually fun, and they did a great job so maybe we'll do it again some time.

The finished product. Alena's on the left (she did all her own drawing;) I love the princess she did, and Eden's on the right (she had some assistance, obviously, but was very opinionated about how she wanted things.)

Maybe I just decided that the damage they could do with paint was much better than what the 2 year old would come up with on her own.

March 6

a picture of our 5 kiddos on the 5th 6th of each month.

(I totally forgot to do this yesterday after all the happenings with Laney. You can tell she's still not 100% but we saw a few smiles today so that's an improvement.)

sick...again

When Laney was sick back in November, we were told that because she had a respiratory infection at such an early age, it was likely that she would have repeat infections. We have been blessed to have a relatively sick-free winter and Laney has remained well...until this weekend. A nasty sounding cough, turned to wheezing, and a trip to the pediatrician this morning to reveal that she has the dreaded RSV. Thankfully, she seems to be handling this better than the last virus (most likely due to being older) and her doctor thinks we can manage it at home. We are praying that we can.
