Presto Chango

Thanks to her big sister and cousin, Alena is well stocked with clothes for this fall/winter. Now that the weather is beginning to feel more fall like, we brought out the boxes and she had a great time trying it all on.

Here we have two dresses, tights and leggings.

Add to that yet another dress and a pajama top.

Top it all off with a Christmas sweatshirt.

Gotta love her sense of style!

Look who's standing {finally}

So, I wasn't far off last week when I said that I thought Eden would be standing up unassisted soon.

You can see she's very proud of herself.

We had quite the scare last night with Mya and she and I spent half the night in the emergency room where there was much concern that she had spinal meningitis. We were very thankful when all the tests came back negative and also thankful that God gave her such a contented heart last night as she lay there enduring some very difficult things when she felt so awful.

What a reminder that God alone protects our children; their lives, as are ours, are constantly in His hands.

Little Ballerina

So glad this day finally arrived for Mya.

Ballet lessons have started up once again.

Ballet is so not my thing,

but her enthusiasm is contagious.

An evening at the park

In an effort to get everyone out of this rather small rental house we are in and to burn off some energy we tried out Edwin Warner Park today. We had never really spent much time at this park but everyone had such a great time today that I'm sure we'll be going back.

Eden is so close to standing up unassisted. I'm sure she's going to do it any day now.
How cool is this bamboo tee-pee ? They had this whole natural play area that the kids loved.

In the center was a huge dirt mound; they could slide, dig and climb to their hearts content. Of course, everyone went right into the bathtub once we got home.
Even Eden made it to the top of the hill after several tries and once she did, there was no stopping her. Every time we put her down she went right over to climb and even threw a little fit when it was time to go.


Oh, this picture is so Alena. She just insisted on carrying this very large stick while we were hiking. She is one determined little girl. There were several less than 1 mile hikes which made it easy to do a little walk without everyone getting too tired and grumpy.


A wonderful way to end a beautiful Lord's Day.

A trip to the zoo

Grandmama is here visiting for the weekend so we decided to take a trip to the zoo yesterday. We thought we were being so smart and waiting until late afternoon to go when the crowds had died down but boy were we wrong. The zoo was packed with people. We still had a good time, though and the weather was wonderful.

The kids were really excited that the new flamingo exhibit was finally open.
