More sunshine
Here are just a few more pictures of Gabe and Mya enjoying the pretty weather we've been having. Sorry I don't have any exciting news but I guess no news is better than bad news :) Do take note of Mya's outfit in the two pictures below I was trying to see how many different patterns she could have on today.

We do have other things to do outside besides play in the sand since it seem that's all I've taken pictures of lately, but they have really been enjoying it which means we find sand everywhere inside as where - the bathtub, laundry basket, random shoes, etc...

Enjoying the sunshine!
Since my last post was all about the snow, it's hard to believe that this past week we enjoyed such warm weather. It was nice for the kids to be able to got outside and play without having to do jackets, hats, etc. We filled their sandbox up and they enjoyed a lot of time in there. One of the things that Mya especially has liked, is this rocking horse that we picked up at a yard sale. Gabe looks huge on the thing but his face in both of these pictures is so funny. He looks like he's reigning in a real horse.
Too bad that all the pictures of Mya were a little blury - I guess she was really rocking while I was taking the pics. The whole time she's on there she's saying, "Rock, rock, rock, rock."

Snow in VA
The kids and I enjoyed a long weekend at my parents last week and also got to experience some snow that actually was enough to play in. I learned , however, that my children must have enough Laotian blood in them to not fully appreciate the cold and snow. While Gabriel loved shoveling and walking around in the snow, he was for some unknown reason terrified of the sled even if he wasn't on it. He screamed the whole time Emma was going down the hill and even tried to pull Mya off of the sled. Who knows where these fears come from. All was not lost, however, as Grandaddy and Aunt Emma were much more patient that I would have been with him and did get him to enjoy being pulled around in the sled if not going down a hill. Mya didn't have appropriate snow footwear and thus really couldn't play. I think she was enjoying herself at first until the above mentioned sledding incident at which point she started crying and just wanted to be held. She only lasted about 10 minutes before coming inside. For those of you who also read Emma's blog these pictures will be repeats as I forgot my camera and these are the pictures from their camera.

We enjoyed getting to spend some time with my sister Carrie and her little girl, RuthAnne, who changes so much everytime we see her. Here is Emma, Grandmama, and RuthAnne posing for the camera.
Grandaddy says that Mya can give the most serious looking expresions and here she is proving that. I wonder what she is thinking about.
We had a great trip - it's always good to see everyone. We did miss Daddy though, who had to stay and work, so it was nice to come home too.

Happy Valentine's Day!!
Well we don't really get into celebrating Valentine's Day too much, but I think it's a holiday made especially for Gabe since we all know how he loves to make things. He's had so much fun making Valentine's and "decorations" for our house. He told me this morning, "I want my whole room to be decorated ." Anyway, here's a couple of pictures from this morning with their Valentine 's gifts. As you can see, Mya is thinking, "May I please just have my oatmeal!"
They each got a cookie on a stick so here they are trying out a few bites (after they finished breakfast of course.) Since my last post also had pictures of them eating cookies I feel the need to say that they do eat something else at times, but I know all of you who know me aren't suprised that they also enjoy their share of sweets as well :)

I must also add that Nae suprised me with flowers yesterday after he got home which was a special treat. We're ordering food in tonight after the kiddos go to bed. Yes, this is the way life is when you have two children and one on the way. We wouldn't change it for all the fancy dinners in the world, though!

An OREO commercial
Below you will see pictures of Gabriel's first time dipping Oreos in milk. As you can see he really enjoyed the experience and did in fact get some in his mouth as well as all over his face and fingers. I don't think he'll get anymore for a while, though because he didn't want to drink the milk after he was done dipping. Isn't that the best part? For the record, Mya also had a cookie, but I just broke off small pieces for her so there was no mess to clean up or take pictures of.
Whenever I am just fed up with these two and it seems they just never get along I should pull out these pictures. After breakfast this morning, I walked into the living room and caught Gabriel "reading" to Mya. Of course their reading list was very short since I often heard Gabe saying, "No Mya, I can't read that one. I don't know the words."

A few random shots
Well, I'm happy to report that Mya is finally better. It took her a couple days to get back to normal especially with the eating , but she seems to be fully recovered now with just a few days of antibiotic to go. We are very thankful that the rest of us appear to still be healthy so perhaps we escaped for this round. This picture was taken on Sunday afternoon while they were watching a movie on Nae's laptop.
As I've written about before, Gabriel loves to "decorate" and do craft projects. Here he is with our Valentine hearts that we did today.
I was trying to get a cute head shot of them in the bathtub but this is as good as it got. They were both acting so silly!

Let it Snow!
We woke up to about 1/2 inch of snow this morning which was a very nice suprise for Gabriel. He came running into my room at 6:15 saying, "Mommy, you're not going to believe it, we really have snow!" So , in most places this wouldn't even count as a real snow since the grass was barely covered but here in Nashville this is enough to close school and everything. Gabe was outside at 8 o'clock this morning and his favorite thing to do - push his little play lawnmower all around.
I just had to post this picture from February of last year. (Please excuse how terrible I look in the picture) to show how much Gabriel has changed in a year. As you can see, he was not terribly interested in the snow last year in fact one would think we were torturing him. This year he went out by himself and played for about 45 minutes.

And in other news, I took Mya to the doctor today and was very glad that I did. She has strept throat and an ear infection! I couldn't believe it - she has been a real trooper to have been that sick. She's on an antibiotic now and hopefully will improve quickly. Just thought I'd post this picture from last week when she was well and Gabriel was playing fireman (yet again) he thought it would be fun for Mya to wear boots too but as you can see she isn't quite big enough since they covered up her knees and she couldn't walk.

We have the bug!
Our little Mya came down with some kind of bug yesterday. I think it's just a viral thing but as you can tell from this picture she isn't feeling very well. Notice her shoes. She went and got them this morning and sat down for me to put them on - over her pajama feet - and wore them like that all day. They match so nicely with the construction crew pajamas that are a hand-me-down from her brother. Thankfully, Mya is a pretty content sick person and just wants to sleep and read lots of books over and over and...
And here is Gabriel who thankfully hasn't gotten anything, yet. Dare we hope that he will escape? He always tries so hard to smile in pictures that he often ends up making wierd faces like this one below.
This picture is from Sunday. Mya got this coat for Christmas, but it's been so warm she hasn't gotten to wear it much. Of course, that's all changed now, and we're thankfull to have this warm red coat.
