Bath time is soooo fun!!

Alena loves to take a bath. It doesn't matter how fussy she is beforehand as soon as she lays in her little tub she is quiet and her eyes get so big as she looks around. It is so enjoyable to give her a bath and not have to listen to screaming the whole time. I thought these pictures were cute.

Sorry about the washcloth picture but I wanted everyone to see how big she is getting. These six weeks have gone by so quickly.

It's an omelet...I mean eggplant!!

Nae has a very small plot of land in the backyard where he has a "garden" mostly consisting of various types of peppers and tomatoes. Each year when we go to the farmer's market to get the plants , Gabe also gets to pick out something to plant. Last year it was strawberries and this year he picked a yellow squash and an eggplant . They both have grown very well and as you can see in the picture below he's already gotten to pick an eggplant which he has started calling an omelet. I'm not sure what we're going to cook with this omelet, but I'm sure it will be tasty . Next year Mya will be big enough to pick something too. I think Nae is going to have to expand his garden space...
Last night we went to a birthday party for our good friends the Shipmans. Their kids are the same ages as ours (with another on the way as well) and they had a combined party - Pooh for the girls and a pirate theme for the boys. Everyone had a great time and here is Mya with her yummy cupcake - this was actually before she became completely covered in the chocolate icing. Gabriel digging for loot in the sandbox.

Our three kiddos

I finally got some pretty good pictures of all three kids together. By "good" I mean that they're all in the picture, looking at the camera with a somewhat happy look on their faces. This is about as happy as Mya usually gets for pictures. The more you say smile the more serious she becomes. Must be camera anxiety or something.

Our week in pictures - part 3

Congrats, if you've made it through all these pictures. Next time I'll try to do better getting them on in a timely manner. Here's the last couple of pics. First a rare family photo of the five of us. Gabriel modeling his new hat.
Carrie, RuthAnne and Robbie we had a great time this week - thanks for coming to visit us.

Our week in pictures - part 2

Today was Nae's birthday so it was nice to have family here to share it with. Carrie and Robbie kindly offered to keep our kiddos and we were able to go out to dinner - thanks guys! When we got home they had helped Gabe and Mya decorate the house and we had cake. Happy Birthday Nae.

Alena - isn't she the best present of all?
Gabe wanted to go to the Dollar Store today and get Daddy a present. He picked candy because as he said, "Everyone likes candy!" Gabe picked out the candy bars and Mya picked the M&Ms.
Everyone got to enjoy some of the strawberry cake!

Alena was awake for all the festivities as well although she didn't get any cake.

Our week in pictures - part 1

We've had a great time this week with Carrie, RuthAnne, and Robbie (for part of the week). Scroll down to see what we've been doing with our Cousin.

On Tuesday we went to the library for story time and then headed over to the Bicentennial Mall to play in the water fountains. Gabriel and RuthAnne had a great time in the water, but Mya would not even get close to it. She stayed with me at the picnic table in the shade.
Wednesday afternoon we headed to the zoo. It was soooo hot but everyone had a great time.

Alena, of course, tagged along with us on all our excursions, but stayed in the stroller most of the time. Here she is resting on Nae's shoulder one evening.

Who does she look like??

So, here's Alena a couple of days ago. Do you think she looks like Gabriel (2nd picture) or Mya (3rd picture) ?

Some random pictures

So here are pictures of what we've been up to over the past few days. Somehow, I didn't have many pics of Gabe so I'll have to do more of him next time.

The girls with Auntie NoiIn an effort to cure boredom, we picked up rocks on our walk one day and the kids scrubbed them off with water and toothbrushes when we got home.
Alena snuggling up with Daddy
Ma thu made this dress for Mya - isn't it pretty?
We were finally successful in finding a helmet small enough for Mya to wear. She was pretty excited about wearing it, at least for this picture - hope it continues!

All tired out!!

So our little Mya who has always been such a wonderful sleeper is showing a different side of her personality this week. I'm guessing that with the changes in our household lately Mya is exhibiting her displeasure by screaming when we put her to bed or in the middle of the night at random points. She has never done this before and while we had some sympathy on her at the beginning of the week , we are now regretting that thinking that we have contributed to the problem. All that to say at nap time today I decided to just let her "cry it out." when she was finally quiet I went in to check on her and this is what I found. Don't worry, though I didn't leave her this way even though she woke up when I tried to move her. We are hoping that she is a quick learner and this won't be a problem too much longer.
