What we've been up to

We've just been enjoying the last lazy days of summer over this past week- not much out of the ordinary has happened. Mya is getting all around the house now walking behind her walker. She has also made several discoveries like the toilet paper and the tupperware cabinet. Thankfully, the weather has cooled off some so we've been able to be outside more. Thanks for checking out our pictures. I thought they looked so cute here - even if Gabriel does have his eyes shut; at least he was smiling.
Enjoying some fun in the sandbox
Mya having fun in the bathtub.
I'm not sure what Gabriel is doing in this picture, but they had the best time in the sandbox today. Of course, Mya was covered in sand and I had to totally strip her down before bringing her inside. Who knows how much sand she ate! :-)

Mya's first haircut

Nae and I decided that Mya's hair was just getting too long and stringy on the ends. So, on Saturday evening we went out to the back porch and cut it. Thanks to the sucker, Mya hardly even noticed she was getting a trim. Here are the before and after pictures.

Gabe was very excited that someone other than him was getting a haircut, although he also had to take his shirt off and also have a sucker.

My first shoes

Earlier this week I got out a pair of Gabe's first tennis shoes and put them on Mya so she could practice pushing her walker outside. Well, it didn't go very well , because she hated having those shoes on. She kept pulling on them and then when I tried to stand her up, she wouldn't put her feet on the ground. After much practice, I finally got her to stand up with them on and here are the pictures to prove it. I can't believe our little baby is this big already! And here she is again posing with those shoes on. I thought her facial expression was so funny in this one.
I pulled all of Mya's hair up in a little ponytail this morning. You can't tell from the picture, but even the back is long enough to be pulled up.
For everyone that's heard about our little run-in or should I say back-in at the zoo this week, here's a picture of Gabe and our "crushed car" as he likes to call it. For the record it was equally my fault and the other guy who just happened to be driving an F250 - we both backed in to each other. Our car didn't stand much of a chance, though against that big 'ole truck.

Beach Fun

We've just returned from a wonderful vacation with my family on Oak Island Beach in North Carolina. With just one real excitment - Emma getting a severe sting from a not nice jelly fish, we had a calm, uneventful vacation. Below are a few pictures to prove it. Mya liked the sand and water a lot more than I thought she would. Of course everything went right in her mouth, but a little sand never hurt anyone :)
Gabriel had a great time in the sand after we finally convinced him that the water was not going to wash his toys away. He was a lot more afraid of everything than he was last year.
Mya would just laugh and hollar in the water, but Gabriel only got in one time. Everytime one of us got in the water, he would say, "Don't get stung by a jellyfish!"
We were so glad that RuthAnne got to join us at the beach this year. Here are all the cousins taking a ride in the rocking chair.
