The past week in pictures

We've been busy over the past week traveling and recuperating from traveling. Scroll down to see what we've been up to.
We started our long Memorial Day weekend with a detour by the hospital to meet Miss RuthAnne Eleanor Cornett. She was born on Tuesday, May 23rd and weighed in at a whopping 8lbs 8ozs. Congrats Carrie and Robbie!
Over the weekend we visited family in both North and South Carolina. On Friday night we stayed with my Uncle Johnston and Aunt Nancy. They live on a small farm, and Gabe had a great time exploring. His favorite thing was getting to "drive" this big John Deere tractor.

I came into the kitchen from laying Mya down and this is what I found. I said, "Gabriel what are you doing?" to which he replied, "I be like Daddy!"

Gabe and Mya enjoyed the swimming pool yesterday for the first time this year. It has been soooo hot lately. Gabe spent most of the time either dumping water on his head or else trying to splash me or Mya.

Just chillin'

Gabe is chillin' in front of the tv watching his favorite show - Sesame Street. Don't be fooled, though, he didn't go to sleep.
This is how Mya takes it easy - with her blanket and thumb. I think this is just the cutest thing to see her sucking her thumb.

Mya is really starting to enjoy food. She constantly amazes us with how much she eats - and I'm talking healthy things like spinach and carrots (she must get it from Nae.) She has also started feeding herself some things, her favorite being the baby toast and graham crackers. We can't figure out where all this food is going!

Smiles and pom-poms

Gabe calls Mya's pigtails, "pom-poms" . I hadn't fixed her hair like this in a long time and when I pulled it up today I couldn't believe how much longer it had gotten. There used to be only a little hair over the top of the rubberband but now they look like real pigtails.


How thankful I am to have been given the privilege of being a mom to these two! Here Gabe is trying his hardest to get Mya to crawl. It usually goes something like this - Gabe lays about 12 inches from Mya's face and shouts. "Come on, Mya" while clapping his hands. Perhaps he's under the impression that the louder he is the more it convinces Mya that crawling is really fun :)

First pair of blue jeans!!

Here's Mya in her first pair of bluejeans she is seven months old and the picture below is of Gabriel in his first pair of blue jeans at six months. Do you think that they look alike?





Here's proof that we really do take pictures of Gabe, but it is so hard to get a good one. He thinks it's sooo funny to close his eyes right as we take the picture.

Just enjoying life

Gabe loves to entertain Mya while I'm getting ready. He'll climb up on the bed and make her laugh and laugh.

We enjoyed a day at the park today since Nae was off. Mya and I sat on the blanket, had lunch and played in the sunshine. Gabriel got to ride his bicycle which he is getting pretty good on.

All dressed up

Just wanted to show everyone these pictures of Mya all dressed up in her big girl outfit that Carrie and Robbie got her. She was quite stylish today! :)

Enjoying the swingset

Now that Mya has a swing, Gabe has decided that he also likes to swing. "Push me high like an airplane" he says. These pics are from this afternoon - enjoying the swingset in our backyard before the rain starts up again.



























Don't you think that Gabe's sunglasses are a nice touch? Especially since it's so sunny today :)
Mya's so little, we have to stuff a blanket in front of her to keep her from sliding down. As you can see, though she loves to swing.

Big Bro, LIttle Sis
